Famous Adoptions: November is National Adoption Month, a month set aside each year to raise awareness about the adoption of children. Adoptive waiting families seeking to adopt through open adoption with birthmother. Licsensed adoption agency, and homestudy approved. In celebration of National Adoption Month, we're recognizing famous families that have welcomed children in need. Sure, you know about Angelina Jolie and children, and you may have heard about a "Sex and the City" cast member, Kristin Davis adopts baby girl, and a star of "The Help", Viola Davis adopts Genesis, who just became new moms.

In 2007 the couple adopted a three year old called Pax Thien from Vietnam. Including their three biological children, Brad and Angelina are now parents to six children.

Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman

Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman were married to each other from 1990 to 2001. During this period the couple adopted two children Isabella Jane (born on December 22, 1992) and Connor Antony (born on January 17, 1995). Connor Cruise seems to be following in his father's footsteps and made his Hollywod debut in the 2008 film 'Seven Pounds', as Will Smith's character's younger self.

Edgar Allan Poe

The famous American poet, writer and literary critic was born as Edgar Poe in 1809 and orphaned after his mother died and father abandoned the family. The young Edgar was then taken in and raised by John and Frances Allan, although they never formally adopted him.
Today Edgar Allan Poe is best remembered for his tales of mystery and horror and is considered the inventor of the detective-fiction genre.
